Việt Connect

Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Việt Connect, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who can use this app

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• If you are under 18, some features are restricted — see the Privacy Policy for details. By using the app you confirm the birthdate you provide is accurate.
• You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

2. Live video and audio

Việt Connect includes live video practice with people you may not know (quick match), public group rooms, and private rooms. Video and audio are transmitted directly between participants (WebRTC) — we do not record or review call content, which also means we cannot monitor a call in real time. Your safety in a call depends partly on the tools we provide (block, report, mute, leave) and partly on your own judgment about who you connect with.

Participants can record a lesson to their own device with "Record this lesson"; a REC indicator is shown to everyone while it's on. Only record people who are fine with it, and never share someone else's recording without their permission.

Never share financial information, passwords, or other sensitive personal data during a call or in chat.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or sexually harass another user
• Share sexually explicit content involving a minor, or engage with a minor in a sexual or romantic manner — this results in an immediate permanent ban and, where legally required, a report to authorities
• Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your age
• Use the app to advertise, solicit, or run a business except through the Teacher marketplace feature as intended
• Attempt to access another user's account, scrape the app, or interfere with its normal operation

Violating these terms may result in content removal, suspension, or permanent account termination, at our discretion.

4. Reporting and moderation

Use the in-app Report and Block features if another user violates these terms or makes you uncomfortable. We review reports and act on objectionable content and abusive accounts within 24 hours, and may suspend or ban accounts based on them. Accounts reported by 3 different people are suspended automatically until reviewed.

5. User content

You keep ownership of content you post (profile info, deck submissions, sentence corrections, chat messages, homework answers). By posting it, you give us the license we need to display it to other users as the app's normal functionality requires (for example, showing your submitted sentence correction to other learners once approved, or showing your homework answer to the teacher who assigned it). You're responsible for having the right to post what you post.

6. Teachers, bookings, payments and homework

Việt Connect lets independent tutors list a profile, set their weekly hours and price, take lesson bookings in the app, and assign homework to their students.

• Payments go directly from student to tutor. The app shows a tutor's payment details (for example a bank account / VietQR code, MoMo, ZaloPay, PayPal or Wise) only to students who have booked a lesson with them. We never receive, hold or process lesson payments, and we are not a party to any lesson, payment or agreement between a tutor and a student.
• "Paid" and "payment sent" labels on a booking are set by the tutor and the student themselves; we don't verify them. Refunds, cancellations and missed lessons are between you and the tutor.
• We don't guarantee a tutor's qualifications or vet their identity beyond basic account checks, and we don't mediate payment disputes. Use your own judgment, and treat early lessons with a new tutor the way you would any arrangement with someone you met online.

Teachers: only list payment accounts that are yours. Grades, quiz scores, feedback and word recordings you give are visible to that student. Use the gradebook export only for your own teaching records, and don't share a student's results with anyone else without their permission.

7. No warranty

The app is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times — this is a small, independently developed app, not a large company's product. We aren't liable for content posted by other users, or for what happens during interactions (including video calls or in-person meetups arranged through the Events feature) between users.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete my account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
